On the evening of the 30th, at around 9:20 PM, a fire was reported in a three-story building near JR Ogikubo Station in Tokyo's Suginami Ward, according to the Tokyo Fire Department.
Twenty-three firefighting vehicles, including pump trucks, have been dispatched to the scene to combat the fire. As of now, the flames have engulfed the second and third floors of the three-story building, covering an area of approximately 40 square meters.
Eyewitnesses reported that the fire originated from the third floor of a yakiniku (Japanese barbecue) restaurant, prompting patrons to evacuate the premises.
The incident occurred in an area approximately 150 meters north of JR Ogikubo Station, surrounded by various dining establishments.
The Tokyo Fire Department is actively working to extinguish the flames, and further updates on the situation are awaited.
